Every stitch represents the growth in
self-esteem and confidence of a courageous woman.
The Yafe Team

Originally from South Korea, Jen has been in Kolkata for many years. Meeting women in a red light area by the Bangladeshi border was the catalyst for Jen starting Yafe. She always has a huge smile on her face and is a great encourager of people.

Pinky simply wanted to provide her two daughters with a quality
education, ensuring a brighter future for their lives. Despite the fact that she commutes from Kalighat, a journey that takes two and a half hours, her dedication to learning sewing and gratitude for the opportunity remain unwavering. Each time she creates products, her hope for herself and her children becomes increasingly positive.

Nesha joined us in 2020 as our first team member. Despite being a young and beautiful woman in her twenties, she faced challenges that were beyond our imagination. She always dreamed of becoming a designer but never had the opportunity. Her dream is gradually becoming a reality. She has since married, settled down, and taken on the role of a supervisor within our team.
Nesha says, "Whenever I come to Yafe House, I feel a great sense of peace in my heart. Witnessing other women being provided with opportunities for a better life fills me with joy. I have been entrusted with responsibility and given the freedom to fulfill it, and as a result, my confidence has truly flourished."
